Character design goes a long way in determining the success of any given video game. Super Mario World just would not have the same kind of appeal if it weren’t for the iconic Italian plumber and his princess in the pink dress. Similarly, we would not be drawn quite as far into the world of Halo if it were not for the incredible hero known as Master Chief.
Just as portraits are drawn of other cultural figures, like politicians and musicians, portraits can also be drawn of our favorite video game heroes. These are the brave virtual men and women who venture into the great unknown, throwing caution to the wind as they slay dragons, frag aliens, and blast a few bad guys along the way.
