A very simple tutorial on how to change your Twitter background in 3 easy steps.
No related posts.

Today’s Twitter tutorial is very simple, but we have to start somewhere. Thousands of new members are joining Twitter, and simple tasks like changing the background may seem difficult. Fortunately, it’s not! We can walk you through this simple process in three easy steps.

1.) Login to your Twitter account and click the “Settings” link on the top right section.

2.) On the next page, click the “Design” link on the menu bar.

1.) Now you have the option to change your background image. You can either select from the few default images they have available, or you can upload your own. To add your own background, simply click “Change background image”. A “browse” box will appear, click this button. Now select the image from your computer and click SAVE. Your image will now be saved as your Twitter background.

Twitter background notes: Once you changed over to your new background, you have the option to “tile” background, or just show the image one time. It’s also important to note that your background needs to be in either jpeg, gif or png format, and should be less thank 800 kb in size.

A look into the Sponsored Tweets program, where Twitter users can make legitimate money from using their Twitter accounts.
No related posts.

The growth of Twitter over the past year has been simply amazing. From what was a stomping ground for internet geeks and web techies, is now a world wide sensation and it’s nearly impossible to watch tv and not see a station boasting their Twitter url. With that said, Twitter still has not created a revenue path for their own company… but others have.

I’m sure many of you have seen fake Twitter accounts that will auto follow anyone, and blasting out affiliate links all day trying to make a quick buck. Usually, these are all automated account and contribute to the trash on Twitter. Now there is a better and legitimate solution, and it’s called Sponsored Tweets!

Sponsored Tweets is exactly what the name says, you get paid for sending out “tweets” from your account. Best of all, you get the final say on what goes out, and there is full disclosure that the link is sponsored. You can see an actual “sponsored tweet” below.

Here are five quick reasons why Sponsored Tweets is legitimate and works:
1.) You personally Approve all Tweets before they go out.
2.) Sponsored Tweets is allowed and Approved by Twitter
3.) Payment are made directly to your paypal account.
4.) Full disclosure shows your tweet is an advertisement.
5.) BIG name celebrities are already using Sponsored Tweets.

How it Works
The concept behind Sponsored Tweets is really simple. All you need is a Twitter account to get started. Sponsored Tweets is a whitelisted and approved Twitter application and uses your Twitter credentials to create an account.

Celebrities Already Using Sponsored Tweets
Some of the largest Twitter accounts are from big name celebrities. Kim Kardashian already has over 2 million followers, and is a user of Sponsored Tweets. You will also find the well known celebrities below using Sponsored Tweets as well.

RoyalTutorial.com and a couple of our other partner sites are already signed up with Sponsored Tweets and have made a few hundred dollars so far. It’s a completely new concept and free to join. I highly recommend you take a look at it, no matter the size of your Twitter following.

2. Create a new layer. Turn on the grid by pressing Ctrl + ; on your keyboard. The grid will help you draw accurate shapes. Change the foreground color to #6AB7E4. Select the ellipse shape tool (U on your keyboard), and draw a circle. Name this layer “head.”

3. Right click on the circle and select “fill path.” Choose the foreground color as your fill. Go to the Paths tab in the Layer box, and delete the path.

4. Create a new layer under “head.” Use the ellipse tool to draw a bigger circle for the bird’s body. Name this layer “body.”

Duplicate the wing layer twice, and each each shape to create a three-fold wing.

Right click on the first wing layer and select “Blending Options.” Choose Inner Shadow, and change the color to #4E8AAD, and the angle to -45 degrees. Click on Outer Glow, and keep the default settings. Go to Stroke, and change the color to #5381CC.

6. Link together all three wing layers and select Layer > Merge Linked (Ctrl + E). Name this layer “left wing.” Make a duplicate of “left wing.” Go to Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal. Move this duplicated wing to the right of the image. Change the layer’s name to “right wing.”

7. Make a duplicate of the “left wing.” Rotate it and arrange it behind the head.

8. Create a new layer above the “background” layer. Take the ellipse tool and draw two slender ovals for legs. Change the foreground color to #A8A23D. Right click and fill path with this color. Delete the path. Name this layer “legs.”

9. Select the burn tool with a 300 px soft round brush under the midtones range at 50% exposure. Go to the “body” layer, and begin burning around the edges, to create a shadow. Add a burn to the “head” and “wings” layers.

10. Use the ellipse tool to create an eye and pupil and eye highlight on three separate layers. Remember to erase the work path. Use #275375 for the pupil color, and #ffffff for the eye base and highlight.

11. Move all the layers except background into a folder. Name the folder “Bird.” Next, right click on the “Bird” folder and select “Duplicate layer set.” Hide the “Bird” folder and the background layer. Next, go to Layer > Merge Visible (Shift + Ctrl + E). Name this layer “Multiply” and change the blending mode to “multiply.”

Next go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Change the radius to 8 pixels.

12. Delete the white background and save your image as a .png to maintain transparency. You’re done!

Easily create a new and original background for your Twitter page using Photoshop.
No related posts.

Everyone is on Twitter. If you’re a web designer hoping to grow your brand, so are you. One of the key ways to show off your brand and inject personality in your personal Twitter page is to design it yourself. Here’s a way to create a one-of-a-kind Twitter background in less time than you think.

For this tutorial, we’ll be building on a fairy theme.

1. Create a new document in Photoshop. The size dimensions are 1600 x 1200. Name this file “twitter_bg.”

2. Open a pattern like this one from ColourLovers.

Go to Edit > Define Pattern to add this pattern into your Photoshop collection for later.

3. Open the forest image from here. Drag the image onto the twitter_bg canvas. Go to Edit > Transform > Scale. While maintaining the ratio, scale to 175% width and length.

Make a duplicate layer of the forest image. In the duplicate layer, move the image over to line up side by side. Next, go to Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal. Make sure there is no gap between the images.

4. Merge the layers together pressing Ctrl + E on your keyboard. Select the healing brush to add leaves to the mirrored bushes and some of the trees, which are both dead giveaways that this image is tiled. So, press the Alt key on your keyboard to sample an area which you’d like to collect from, in this case the leaves. Next, release the Alt key and begin carefully adding leaves to the bushes, removing some leaves from the bark of the trees.

Before:

After:

Next, create a new layer for the background. Move the layer underneath all others. Fill this layer with the color #604323. Return to the image layer and use the move tool or your up arrow on your keyboard to push the image up, creating a small band at the bottom of the screen.

5. Create a new layer. Select the Black and Clear gradient from the Gradient Editor.

Draw a gradient, starting at an angle from the upper left corner. This create a spotlight effect.

Change the layer’s opacity to 55%. Go to Blending Options for the layer. Go Select the Pattern Overlay, and choose the pattern from Step 2. Change the blending mode of this overlay to Luminosity. Scale to 270%. Change the fill to 60%.

6. Create a new layer. Select the rectangle marquee. Enter in the fixed size of 200 x 500. Draw the marquee to the left of the screen, leaving approximately 20 px of space from the margin of the page. It may be easier to add guides to help you estimate, which can be dragged from the ruler. Fill this marquee with the same color brown (#604323).

7. Create another layer. Take the text tool and type your text. In this tutorial, we’re using Grutch Shaded at 60pt. Go to Blending Options, and add a drop shadow. Select Bevel/ Emboss, and change the glass contour to “cove deep.”

8. Open the castle image from here. Erase the background, leaving only the castle and the forest underneath it. Drag this image onto the twitter_bg canvas.

Resize the castle to fit over the brown rectangle from Step 6, positioning it under the text. While the castle image is selected (if not selected, click on its layer while holding the Ctrl key), go to Edit > Adjustments, and select Auto Levels, Auto Contrast, and Auto Color. Next, select Color Balance, and enter in the following levels: +15 | +50 | 0.

Take the eraser tool and begin erasing the bottom edges. Next, make a duplicate of this layer and move it underneath the original. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Change the radius to 20%.

9. Add additional text for your tag-line. The text in this tutorial is VincHand. The text here is 85 pt, but the space between the lines is 55 pt.

Add a drop shadow and bevel to the text.

10. Save your image, choosing the “Save for Web” option. Make sure the file size is smaller than 800k which is Twitter’s file capacity.

Next, sign on to Twitter. Go to Settings from the top menu bar and select “Design.” Next, select “Change Background.” Upload your image, and you’re set! Don’t forget to add a profile image to complete your personalized Twitter page. You’re done! Have a look at the final Twitter page here.
